SCHOOL FOR FATHERS AND MOTHERS

Basic course of educational competence consisting of approximately four sessions per year, depending on the needs of the families and the ages of the children.

The theoretical-practical methodology includes specific training with content of interest to fathers and mothers.

Some topics to discuss:

• Traits of evolutionary Psychology. What can I expect from my child?
• How to learn behavior. Reinforcers and maintainers of appropriate behavior
• Techniques to improve behavior. • Empathic communication. Management techniques for effective communication.
• Personality characteristics.
• Crisis and search for identity.
• Behavior management guidelines.
• Basic rules for dealing with teenagers
• Special situations

TALKS/WORKSHOPS FOR PARENTS WITH CHILDREN IN INFANT/PRIMARY EDUCATION

Talks/workshops for parents with children in infant and primary education to be given in the educational centre or in IVAPEC, with a practical and participative methodology, with an approximate duration of 90 minutes.

Some topics:

• Learning to communicate in order to educate better.
• Educate with positive authority.
• How to modify aggressive behaviours.
• The development of the child through play.
• How to educate self-esteem.
• The influence of the family on the affectivity of the child.
• Normal problems in primary school children.
• Reading and writing.
• How to tell stories.
• Divorce.
• Management of behaviours in the food area.
• Social networks, friendly networks? How to use social networks.

TALKS/WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS WITH CHILDREN IN SECONDARY EDUCATION

Lectures/workshops for parents with children in secondary education to be given in the educational centre or in IVAPEC, with a practical and participative methodology, with an approximate duration of 90 minutes.

• Falling in love in the 21st century.

CO-EDUCATING WITH HOME ASSISTANCE

In many cases, educational work requires closer individualised attention and in the family context. For this reason, we develop coeducation sessions within the family with specific guidelines and exercises according to each case. The figure of the “family co-educator” responds to current needs.

This is an experience generated by the demand of families for various reasons (single parenthood, reconstituted families, educational insecurity, unemployment, etc.).

From the parents’ school, educators teach us techniques to effectively redirect these behaviours and thus make our child freer.
